Riverbank Arts is a community-centered space for creatives, community members, and academics to develop and find support for artistic and cultural production in Flint.

We welcome all creators and supporters of art and culture to connect and collaborate.  


Riverbank Arts is an initiative of the Arts+Culture Research Cluster at The University of Michigan Flint, and is supported by the Office of Research and Economic Development, the Arts Initiative, and the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

Emma Davis is a community-engaged dancer, scholar, educator, and choreographer in Flint, Michigan. 

Tunde Olaniran is an artist based in Flint, MI, whose work spans the worlds of music, dance, film, literature and performance art.

Maia Asshaq


Maia Asshaq (b. 1987) is an Iraqi born writer and artist currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She co-founded DittoDitto Books, The Detroit Art Book Fair, and Flint Magazine, before moving to LA where she works as Associate Director of Editorial & Publications at the David Kordanksy Gallery.
